Very rare vase from the "Løvspring" (leaf spring) series by Nils Thorsson for Royal Copenhagen. 

It is made during the Second World War and made from red clay and as there was a shortage of materials and stoneware was not easily accesable. Royal Copenhagen only used the red clay in this period. The "Løvspring" series came on the market in 1943/44.

The vase is decorated with a stylized leaf decor made in sgrafitto. The glaze is ochre brown on the outside and dark brown on the inside.

The vase is marked on bottom with the Royal Copenhagen hallmark along the 3 waves

The vase is a factory second edition due to some irregularities in the thickness of the glaze.

It is in very good vintage condition.
No chips, cracks or repairs.
Fine age-related crazing.
