Very rare original vintage Danish Le Klint "SAX" lamp in rosewood.
It's the model 234 and made from solid rose wood. The rosewood has a very beautiful grain.
The lamp comes with the original vintage Le Klint pleated lamp shade made from plastic.
Made 1960s.
The lamp is a Danish design icon and was designed by Erik Hansen in 1952.
The lamp has been copied by many in Denmark and abroad, but there is only one original as Le Klint writes themselves.
The SAX lamp was manufactured continuously since its launching in the 1950s with various kind of wood according to what was modern. It's still in production but always only in a few kinds of wood.
The special pleated lamp shade is a trademark for Le Klint.
It was developed by architect and engineer P. V. Jensen-Klint around 1900. He wanted to diffuse the shape light from the petrol lamps and experimented with folding lampshades inspired by Japanese origami. Trying to fold new shapes became a family hobby in the Klint family in which also the children Tage and Kaare Klint participated. It established the foundation of the lighting company Le Klint.
The Le Klint SAX lamp not only spreads a lot of cosiness. It's also very practical and good looking at the same time! If you want a cosy and Scandinavian atmosphere in your home, here you get it.
The lamp is extendible in length and can be turned from left to right. And it can be titled in the end. So you can get your light exactly where you need it - for your reading, knitting, embroidering or just to give cosy light in a corner.
